“No, don’t do it” – Some Spurs fans urge player not to join London rivals

Fernando Llorente has endured a difficult couple of seasons at Tottenham after having to play second fiddle to Harry Kane.

The Spaniard has never really had a regular run in the side which has limited his ability to build some consistency when called upon.

While Spurs fans didn’t take to him after his first season at the club, it is fair to say that he won over most of the fans with his displays last season.

The 34-year-old stepped up when the likes of Harry Kane and Dele Alli were missing due to injuries, and put in some important displays for Spurs.

His contributions towards the end of the season proved crucial in helping the club finish in the top four and reaching the final of the Champions League.

However, despite his heroics last season, it looks like his Spurs career could now over with reports indicating that the club will not offer the former Swansea man a new contract when his current deal comes to an end this month (Football.London).

A report in the Daily Star claims that Tottenham’s London rivals West Ham are interested in snapping up Llorente on a free, as a potential back up option.

Some Spurs fans certainly didn’t like the idea of Llorente joining the Hammers and begged the World Cup winner not to make the move to East London.

Spurs Web Opinion

Llorente has certainly given his all when called upon and served the team well in the last couple of years. We at Spurs Web would like to wish the Spaniard the best for his future. We certainly won’t be begrudging him a move to West Ham, as he has shown that he can still contribute at the highest level.
