‘No doubt about it’ – Ex-Spurs man on what Bale will do next season

Former Tottenham Hotspur shot-stopper, Paul Robinson has claimed that he is 100 per cent sure Gareth Bale will remain at Real Madrid next season (Football Insider).

Bale made a sensational return to his former club, Tottenham in the summer of 2020, but only on loan from Los Blancos.

It is fair to say that it took a while for the Welshman to earn Jose Mourinho’s trust and was used on and off from the turn of the new year onwards. Despite a lack of game time, Bale managed an impressive 16 goals and three assists in 34 games.

Following his final performance for the Lilywhites against Leicester City, in which he scored a brace, Bale claimed that he already knew what his future held, but didn’t want to cause chaos by revealing it ahead of the Euros (Sky Sports).

Since these comments, there has been a change of manager at Real Madrid, with Zinedine Zidane leaving and Carlo Ancelotti returning.

Robinson believes that the former Everton manager will want Bale to remain with him in Spain next season.

He said: “Ancelotti will want Bale to stay with him. 100 per cent. I have no doubt about it.

“Bale showed his worth in flashes but with all of the uncertainty going on at the club I think it would be a big financial risk to re-sign him. The wages are huge and if Tottenham are going in a different direction they need to start afresh.

“Ancelotti and Bale have worked well together in the past. Ancelotti has the man-management skills to get Bale onside.

“The finances at Real Madrid are not what they used to be so I think he will look to utilise Bale next season.”
