‘No mercy’ – Journalist claims Spurs target has handled contract situation ‘very badly’

Pietro Mazzara of MilanNews.it has suggested AC Milan fans are now only ‘tolerating’ Franck Kessie and nothing more, amidst reports of Tottenham’s interest in the midfielder (as relayed by Sport Witness).

Kessie sees his current deal with the Rossoneri expire at the end of the season and an exit is firmly on the cards with talks of fresh terms off the table (Gazzetta dello Sport via Football Italia).

Sport reported last week that Tottenham had entered the frame to swoop in on the Ivorian, having made a ‘powerful’ offer to sign the 25-year-old on a free contract this summer.

While rumours continue to circulate, Milan secured a 1-0 win over Sampdoria on Sunday with Kessie brought on as a substitute for the final half an hour of the encounter.

But upon his introduction, he was met with jeers from the Milan faithful while banners dotted around the San Siro lamented his intention to leave the club.

Italian journalist Mazzara has now explained that fans will ‘tolerate’ him for the rest of the season, but treat him with ‘no mercy’ if he makes ‘decisive mistakes.’

He also added that Spurs’ Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici are continuing to track Kessie’s situation, alongside Barcelona.

Kessie’s situation in Milan seems to be growing pretty restless but there isn’t much anyone can do given we are at an awkward point of the season. It seems very likely that he will leave on a free transfer, but it will take a club with a very good offer to tempt him.
