Fabrizio Romano has revealed Tottenham are expected to push for a move to sign Wolves winger Adama Traore in the coming days.
The Athletic recently reported that Tottenham are ‘close to agreeing a deal’ for the Spaniard, who does not plan on extending his contract at Molineux which expires in 18 months.
Wolves reportedly turned down a £15 million bid from Spurs already this week, with Bruno Lage’s side still insistent on receiving a fee in the region of £20 million (The Telegraph).
However, Romano has provided an update on Spurs’ pursuit of the 25-year-old, revealing talks are still on between both clubs over a deal this month.
The Italian journalist mentioned Spurs intend to ramp up negotiations in the next hours and days to secure Traore, who managing director Fabio Paratici targeted last summer.
Romano also explained that Spurs are focusing on potential outgoings before the January 31 deadline, with the likes of Tanguy Ndombele and Dele Alli both tipped to leave North London (Sky Sports).
