‘No possibility’ – Agent claims Conte would stop Spurs from signing forward

Italian football agent Massimo Brambati has claimed Juventus forward Paulo Dybala will not sign for Tottenham if Antonio Conte remains as the club’s manager.

Dybala is set to leave the Bianconeri at the end of the season after failing to agree fresh terms for a new contract, with his current deal expiring this summer (Sky Sports).

Foot Mercato have claimed Tottenham have since emerged one of the parties interested in signing the Argentine, who has scored 115 goals in seven years for Juventus (Transfermarkt).

Spurs chased Dybala extensively during the 2019 summer transfer window but failed to close a deal after struggling to gain ownership of the 28-year-old’s image rights (Independent).

Although Tottenham’s interest has allegedly been reignited, intermediary Brambati does not believe Dybala will end up in north London for as long as former Juventus boss Conte is there, while maintaining Serie A holders Inter Milan are the frontrunners to land his signature.

Brambati told TMW Radio: “For the race to Dybala, there is grand prix in which Inter currently runs alone.

“Speaking of Tottenham, if Conte were to remain there, [then there] would be no possibility for his transfer.

“The last two years weigh on the player’s evaluation, characterised by injuries and continuous stops. In these situations, the pitch is the only judge. Since the announcement of the non-renewal, I expected a surge in performance from the player, which instead did not happen.

“I don’t think he will be without a team, but at the moment no one is tearing his hair out to take Dybala, much less at the figures requested by the Argentine himself.”

Spurs Web Opinion

The Dybala saga from 2019 still plays in the mind of plenty of Tottenham fans considering it could have been such a game-changing coup for the club.

No doubt Spurs will be in the picture again for him this summer – particularly as he is becoming a free agent – but there are so many factors that will come back into play in terms of completing a transfer.
