‘No proposal’ – Fabrizio Romano gives update on Spurs interest in Juventus man

Fabrizio Romano has explained that Tottenham have not made a proposal to sign Alvaro Morata.

Tottenham are still waiting to make their first acquisition this month after seemingly losing out on deals for Porto winger Luis Diaz and Wolves’ Adama Traore in the last 24 hours (Sky Sports and The Sun).

According to Spanish radio show El Partidazo de Cope, Spurs are said to have now moved on to making an approach for former Chelsea man Morata.

The report stated Atletico Madrid are open to offloading the 29-year-old, who is currently on loan at Juventus, ahead of next week’s transfer deadline having also received offers from Barcelona and Newcastle.

However, Italian transfer expert Romano has revealed that Spurs have not submitted an offer for Morata as of yet and says there are ‘huge chances’ for him to see out the rest of the campaign with Juventus.

Speaking to Last Word On Spurs (6:35), Romano said: “I’m told that there is no proposal from Tottenham for Alvaro Morata. I am expecting [him] to have huge chances to stay at Juventus until the end of the season.”

Morata would actually be a decent option to come into the side and lessen the load on Harry Kane, who is still the only recognised senior striker at the club. But it seems like Spurs haven’t made an approach for him, and for them to land him before the deadline, they’d have to move quickly and efficiently.
