No Spurs move for Colombian target despite reports

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a number of players ahead of the January transfer window, but no deal has been portrayed as more nailed on by the media than Wilmar Barrios.

Spurs were monitoring the Colombian centre mid through the summer after his impressed at club level for Boca Juniors, as well as for his national side at the World Cup.

Barrios wasn’t the most popular of footballers in the summer after he appeared to both stamp on Jordan Henderson and celebrate in England players’ faces after a Colombia equaliser.

ESPN sources have now reported that no deal has been agreed between the two clubs, despite media claims, and Spurs have no intention of signing the player.

It was previously reported that Spurs had already agreed personal terms with the midfielder’s agent.

ESPN claim he was not a target in the summer, and is still not one now, so don’t expect any Barrios signing come the new year.
