Report: Tottenham hierarchy distance the club from a move for Euro 2024 winger

The summer transfer window is yet to officially open, however, the transfer rumour mill involving Tottenham Hotspur is already in full flow.

One such rumour recently has been Tottenham’s rumoured interest in Stuttgart winger Chris Fuhrich which has now been downplayed by Football.London’s Alasdair Gold.

A whole host of wide-men have been mooted as targets for Spurs over the last few months and the latest to be named by the press is Fuhrich, who has evolved into a consistent performer since his move to the MHP Arena two and a half years ago.

It was reported by Christian Falk a few days ago that Tottenham had been impressed by the 26-year-old’s displays and are set to battle Bayern Munich for the player’s services.

The journalist asserted that the attacker, who scored nine goals and provided seven assists across all competitions last season, has a release clause of €23.5m (£19.8m) in his contract.

However, Gold has now poured cold water over the speculation linking Fuhrich with a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The journalist has said that those within Tottenham have distanced themselves from the reports linking the German international with a move to N17.

It remains to be seen whether this is true or whether Spurs are simply playing a clever game and keeping their cards close to their chest.

Now that Spurs have decided to extend Werner’s loan deal and bulk up their squad, the club now need to sign a top-class attacker who would improve their starting eleven such as Nico Williams.

Fuhrich would be quite an underwhelming addition and I hope to see Tottenham land a much bigger name.

If Bayern are keen on signing the winger, it would be hard for the North Londoners to try to contend with the lure of playing for the Bundesliga giants.
