Some Spurs fans on social media have expressed scepticism about reports that Newcastle United have made a mammoth offer for rumoured Tottenham target Dusan Vlahovic.
Vlahovic has been heavily linked with a move to Spurs over the last few months, with reports indicating that the Serbian international is Antonio Conte’s number one priority in January.
Cacliomecato.it then reported a few days ago that Newcastle had entered the race for the Fiorentina star and the Magpies had made a €100m (£85m) offer for the centre-forward.
The report added that the Viola would prefer to sell Vlahovic to a Premier League club rather than Juventus.
While some Tottenham fans on social media questioned whether there is truth to the speculation, others were confident that Vlahvoic would not head to St James’ Park given that Newcastle are embroiled in a relegation battle.
Why would he go there? For a relegation battle?
The pull of a Champions League qualification pursuit with Tottenham is more appealing.
End of the day. Who would you choose out of Conte and Howe.
No contest. He joins Spurs next month.

Overpaying a little to secure a deal is one thing. Paying 30m+ more for no reason, and just because they have money, would be incredibly stupid 😂 No way this is true. https://t.co/u9GbraV0Gk

Newcastle are getting relegated. I can’t imagine vlahovic wanting to play championship football

Is he aware of what the Championship is?
Because it isn’t as fancy as it sounds.

Spurs Web Opinion
Even if Newcastle are interested, I do not see Vlahvoic being keen on a move to St James’ Park as it would take the Magpies at least four of five years to even compete for Champions League qualification. I believe Juventus and Man City will be our competitors for the 21-year-old’s signature.
