‘No words will atone’ – Harry Kane breaks silence on Dinamo Zagreb defeat

Harry Kane has broken his social media silence after Tottenham were knocked out of the Europa League by Croatian side, Dinamo Zagreb, on Thursday.

Spurs went into the second leg of the Round of 16 tie two goals to the good thanks to a comfortable victory at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium where Kane scored twice.

Thanks to the away goals rule, Tottenham knew that a single goal in Croatia would leave Zagreb needing four, all but ending the tie.

However, Spurs were lacklustre and weak in attack despite naming an extremely strong line-up that included Harry Kane up top.

Not only did the Lilywhites fail to score, but they also conceded twice in normal time to force an extra 30 minutes before conceding again, thus ending the tie in defeat and exiting the competition.

This painful result followed a similarly disappointing match against Arsenal in the North London Derby last weekend.

Kane took to Twitter today to claim that there were no words to make up for the last two games and that the team would have to respond on the pitch.

He said (Twitter): ‘Time to bounce back tomorrow after a very disappointing week. No words will atone for the last 2 games, we just have to show our response on the pitch!’
