‘Nonsense’ – Club director rules out exit for Spurs-linked midfielder

Borussia Monchengladbach sporting director Max Eberl has played down speculation linking Florian Neuhaus with a move away from the club at the end of the season.

The central midfielder has been enjoying an impressive campaign for the German outfit having scored six goals in 29 appearances in all competitions (transfermarkt).

Sport1 claimed that his performances had been attracting the attention of Tottenham Hotspur who have been mulling over whether to trigger the £36million release clause in his contract, while Kicker reported that there is interest from across Europe from the likes of Bayern Munich, Juventus Manchester City and Liverpool.

Neuhaus particularly caught the eye with his stunning matchwinner against champions Bayern Munich earlier this season.

Eberl has poured cold water on any possibility of the 23-year-old who is currently under contract until 2024 leaving the Bundesliga side anytime soon and instead claimed that it is disrespectful that his players are linked with a potential exit.

Eberl told Tribal Football: “If he will leave the club? With the best will in the world, I can’t imagine it, it’s nonsense, very simple.

“We are always asked who could leave us and it is a bit disrespectful, the way we are treated.
