Norwich City boss reveals why he thinks Oliver Skipp wins MOTM most weeks

Norwich City boss, Daniel Farke has suggested that Oliver Skipp may win the Man of the Match award most weeks thanks to Tottenham fans hijacking the polls.

While Farke joked about whether Skipp deserved the award week in week out, he clearly has faith in the Spurs starlet. Skipp has been an everpresent in the Championship for Norwich this season, playing 90 minutes in 23 of the 29 games (TransferMarkt).

This first-team experience will be invaluable to Skipp’s development as a professional player, especially when considering that he was only handed 11 appearances across all competitions by Spurs last season.

Norwich City currently sit at the summit of the Championship table as they look to bounce back and win promotion to the Premier League one year after their relegation.

Mourinho once tipped Skipp to become the future captain of Tottenham Hotspur and will surely be pleased with his young midfielder’s progression so far this season in a strong Norwich side.

Farke said (Norwich): “The reason why Oliver wins the man-of-the-match award every week it’s because Tottenham fans always vote for him!

“When you look at his season so far, he’s played more or less each and every second. We have a lot of competition and that shows how highly I regard him that he plays most weeks.

“Jose Mourinho is a top-class coach. He’s spoke about Oliver having a captain pedigree and who am I to speak against this?

“I enjoy every day working with Oliver but I like to help him develop and put pressure on him too.”
