Nostalgia for Tottenham as Tainio signs contract with the club

Tottenham Hotspur look to have signed up their latest academy professional this week, as one youngster took to Instagram to show off his shiny new contract.

Spurs fans may recognise the name too, as Maximus Tainio is the son of former Spurs man Teemu Tainio.

Tottenham signed Tainio Sr back in 2005 on a free transfer after the midfielder’s contract expired at Auxerre (Standard).

Teemu was at the club for three years before leaving in 2008, and racked up 60 appearances in that time and three goals.

The Finland international was even part of the squad 11 years ago that lifted the 2008 League Cup, unfortunately, Tottenham’s last piece of silverware.

Spurs will be hoping that the likes of Tainio Jr can come through the ranks like Harry Kane and Harry Winks to help them towards their next trophy.

The academy youngster can be seen below in his Tottenham training kit and what looks like a gifted club pen to sign his professional contract with.
