The Daily Mail’s Sami Mokbel has revealed that Morgan Gibbs-White has been on Tottenham’s radar for quite a while but asserted that Nottingham Forest will not consider selling the midfielder during the current transfer window.
It has been widely reported over the past couple of weeks that Spurs are keeping an eye on Gibbs-White, who is having an impressive season at the City Ground (The Mail).
However, various sources have suggested over recent days that Forest might be reluctant to cash in on the 23-year-old mid-season (Dean Jones – GiveMeSport).
It was reported by The Times a couple of days ago that Nuno Espirito Santo’s men value the youngster in excess of £50m.
The outlet explained that while the City Ground hierarchy are reluctant to sell their young talisman, it was pointed out that the midfielder is their most sellable asset at a time when they need to raise funds after being charged with alleged breaches of the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules.

January sale not likely for Morgan Gibbs-White
Mokbel has now confirmed that the Lilywhites have indeed held a serious interest in Gibbs-White for quite a while but he added that he would be ‘shocked’ if Forest approved the player’s sale during the current transfer window.
The journalist told The Spurs Chat Podcast: “Morgan Gibbs-White is a really good player and he is a player that is of long-term interest to Tottenham. He’s not a new target, he’s been on their radar for years and they will have done all the due diligence and scouting on him.
“They will know all about him, but I would be shocked if Nottingham Forest, the situation they’re in, would consider selling their best player to Tottenham, I would be shocked if that deal had legs this month.”

Forest’s precarious financial situation means that the potential sale of Gibbs-White cannot be ruled out during the current transfer window. Given the Midlands club’s predicament, one would not be surprised if Daniel Levy decides to test the waters with an offer for the 23-year-old.
