‘Not going to stick around’ – Harry Redknapp makes worrying Conte prediction

Harry Redknapp has predicted Antonio Conte will get ‘disillusioned very quickly’ at Tottenham and claims he could leave the club if things don’t improve any time soon.

Conte is currently undergoing his most challenging spell at Spurs head coach, having overseen a third successive defeat in the Premier League.

It comes after Spurs endured a frustrating transfer window last month, which saw them miss out on Adama Traore to Barcelona while Liverpool beat them to Luis Diaz (The Telegraph).

But Tottenham did bring in Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski from Juventus on deadline day, with the likes of Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso, Bryan Gil and Dele Alli all departing North London.

However, former Spurs manager Redknapp believes the club’s current rut and lack of real progress could infuriate Conte to the point where he may not turn out for the start of next season.

He told talkSPORT: “I do get the feeling with him that he’s not going to stick around if he sees this is not going to go well. It’s not what he’s been used to, he’s always managed top clubs with top players.

“I don’t think he will stick around if he doesn’t see a bit of progression there and a chance to be up there looking to win something, I think he’ll get disillusioned very quickly.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham are at a point where things are not going so well, so this is the point where Conte has to switch things up to get a tune out of the players. The players he has at his disposal aren’t exactly of amazing calibre, but it has to be ridden out until the summer where he needs to be backed properly.
