‘Not immune to rising costs’ – Spurs release statement on season ticket pricing

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that they have decided to freeze the price of season tickets for the 2023/2024 season.

The Telegraph reported last month that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy was mulling over whether to increase the cost of season tickets for next term, a decision which would have angered many supporters.

Tottenham fans have not seen their side lift any silverware since 2008 and are currently without a head coach following the departure of Antonio Conte in the wake of his explosive post-match press conference at Southampton.

Tottenham’s season tickets are already among the most expensive in the Premier League and another increase would have hit the pockets of supporters hard, who are already feeling the pinch due to the current economic climate, including high energy costs.

Supporters have no guarantee of Champions League football ahead of the renewal decision with the club currently outsiders to finish in the top four after failing to beat Everton on Monday evening.

A statement on the club’s official website read: “We should like to take this opportunity to thank our Season Ticket Holders for their support throughout the current campaign. The focus is now on getting behind Cristian, the coaching staff and the team for the remaining games as we fight for the highest possible Premier League finish.

“Due to global economic events we, like all other sectors, are not immune to rising costs and disruption to supply chains, along with higher energy prices. We are, however, acutely aware that everyone is also currently impacted by the rising cost of living. With this in mind, and following consultation with the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust, we can confirm that Season Ticket prices for the 2023/24 season will be frozen.

“We recognise and greatly appreciate the ongoing commitment our fans continue to make in showing support for the team.

“Once again, we shall be working with V12 Finance to offer a payment option to supporters wishing to spread the cost of their Season Ticket across 10 months. Subject to approval, payments will commence in June and continue for a further nine months. If you wish to pay via V12 Finance, your loan will be subject to a one-off arrangement fee (admin fee) of 5.79%.”

Many Tottenham fans are already on the verge of mutiny given recent goings on at the club, including the departure of their manager and the uncertainty surrounding Fabio Paratici’s future.

Supporters want to see the club being proactive and acting like a big club, by going after a manager who is a good fit for the DNA which they were promised and was not delivered.
