The agent of rumoured Tottenham target Josko Gvardiol has admitted that plenty of top clubs are interested in the centre-back but insisted that his client is in no hurry to leave RB Leipzig.

Reports over recent weeks have indicated that Tottenham are going toe-to-toe with Chelsea for Gvardiol’s signature ahead of January (Tuttosport).

The centre-back has done his reputation no harm with the performances he has delivered at the World Cup so far and his value could potentially grow even further if he helps take Croatia deeper into the tournament.

90 min reported last week that the Blues were the front-runners for Gvardiol’s signature, revealing that Graham Potter’s men are ‘optimistic’ about snapping up the centre-back in January, along with his Leipzig teammate Christopher Nkunku.

However, the centre-back’s agent Marjan Sisic has now made it clear that he has no agreement with any club regarding a transfer either in January or in the summer, and that his client is happy at the Red Bull Arena.

When asked about Gvardiol potentially leaving Leipzig, Sisic told Florian Plettenberg: “Regarding a possible transfer in summer 2023, we are not in a hurry and I can make clear that there are no pre-agreements with any clubs.

“For sure, a lot of top clubs have informed about him but Josko has a long-term contract in Leipzig. Josko feels totally happy in Leipzig. His development is amazing and RB is playing very good under Marco Rose.”

One can understand why Gvardiol would not be in a hurry to leave Leipzig, given that he is only 20 years of age. If the Croat decides to wait until next summer for a move, that would benefit Spurs as the North Londoners are more likely to be in the market for a left-sided centre-back in the summer than in January.
