Tottenham Hotspur are not in the race to sign Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Such was the speculation linking the French international with a switch to North London, former Chelsea defender John Terry took to Instagram to send the 26-year-old a message when he replied to a post from Sky Sports to tell Zouma: ‘Don’t do it.”
Sky had claimed that Zouma was one of a number of defenders which Spurs were looking at as part in an effort to improve their backline.
Romano claimed that West Ham United are still keen on Zouma and will not encounter any issues agreeing a deal with Chelsea, however, the defender is still negotiating personal terms with the Hammers.
Chelsea are prepared to allow Zouma to leave as part of their attempt to sign Sevilla’s Jules Kounde before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.
The agreement between West Ham and Chelsea for Kurt Zouma is not a problem. Chelsea are prepared to sell as they want to sign Koundé as priority. Spurs are not in the race. 🔵 #CFC
…but Zouma is negotiating on personal terms with West Ham since days. Talks ongoing. 🇫🇷 #WHUFC

A deal between Tottenham and Chelsea would seem unlikely due to the ill-feeling created when they tried to lure Luka Modric to Stamford Bridge.
Zouma would be an upgrade on Davinson Sanchez and Eric Dier and his pace would be an asset to the back line, however, it appears that he could be playing at the soulless London Stadium instead.
