‘Not on the market’ – Romano claims reported Spurs target is not leaving

Fabrizio Romano has claimed that reported Tottenham target, Tariq Lamptey is not leaving Brighton in the transfer window this summer.

It was reported by Sky Sports earlier this month that Spurs were interested in signing the speedy right-wing-back ahead of the 2021/22 campaign. The Daily Mail also claimed that Tottenham’s bitter North London rivals were interested in the Brighton man.

Tottenham struggled at right-back last time out, with Serge Aurier being plagued with inconsistency and new signing Matt Doherty not hitting the expected heights.

Romano has now claimed that Lamptey is not on the market at all this summer, meaning that he will remain with the Seagulls for another season.

The youngster only managed 11 Premier League games last season due to injury but looked extremely impressive during that time, especially in the game against Spurs.

Romano said (The Arsenal Lounge): “They (Arsenal) started in January considering Lamptey as an option, but now he is not on the market. He is staying at Brighton.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

I think Lampety was always going to be a difficult one to sign this summer. Brighton will be well aware that his value is lower at the moment due to the injury. They will want him to have one full top-quality season to get his value right up there.
