Tottenham insider Paul O’Keefe has revealed that the North London club have not been overly impressed with the defensive midfielders currently on the market.

It has been widely reported over the last few weeks that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who has just a year left on his contract at Spurs, is expected to be on his way out of Hotspur Way this summer as part of a mass exodus (The Telegraph).
There have also been suggestions recently that academy graduate Oliver Skipp, who struggled to get game time this season, could potentially be sold by the club (Paul O’Keefe).
It has been reported by various reliable sources that signing a new number six is a priority for Ange Postecoglou this summer, with Atalanta’s Ederson rumoured to be near the top of the Lilywhites wishlist (Football.London).
Tottenham need a natural number six to improve the team
O’Keefe took to social media to reveal that there are no fresh developments over any potential additions in the number six role since they have not been keen on any of the potential options in the holding midfield position.

A number six is a priority position for Tottenham, arguably much more so than a striker, a winger, a centre-back and even a number eight.
it is a little puzzling that Spurs have put their quest for a defensive midfielder on the back burner and appear to be focusing on other areas of the pitch.
Postecoglou tried Yves Bissouma in the role time and time again, however, it is clearly obvious that it is not his natural position and a player of Ederson’s quality would really help to push the team on.
