‘Nothing serious’ – Journalist relays what source close to Richarlison said about injury

UOL Esporte journalist Bruno Andrade has revealed that someone close Richarlison has said the striker’s injury is ‘nothing serious’.

Richarlison came off with a calf injury in the 58th minute of Tottenham’s 2-0 win over Everton on Saturday, and the injury is not only a concern for the Lilywhites, given their busy schedule but also for Brazil, with the World Cup a little more than a month away.

Antonio Conte admitted in his post-match press conference that the 25-year-old has no chance of being fit for the clash against Manchester United on Wednesday and that the true extent of the injury will only become clear after a scan (FootballLondon).

Richarlison was reported to be in tears in the dressing room after the game, and has expressed his fears about missing the World Cup, with Brazil’s campaign in Qatar getting underway on November 28 (ESPN Brazil).

However, Andrade has now provided a positive update on the Brazilian international.

According to the journalist, a person who is ‘very close’ to Ricahrlsion said: “He cried more with fright. At first, nothing serious. However, we will only know for sure after the exams. We are confident”.

There is no point speculating about the seriousness of Richarlison’s injury before the striker has a scan. However, what looks certain is the fact that the 25-year-old will miss at least the next couple of games for Spurs.

So, we need Kulusevski to be up to speed for the trip to Old Trafford so that Conte has some attacking options to turn to on the bench.
