‘Nothing to it’ – Bayern Munich director opens up on links with Harry Kane

Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has played down the speculation linking Harry Kane with a move to the Bundesliga club next summer.

Multiple reports from Germany over the last few months have suggested that Kane is on Bayern’s radar as a potential target for next summer (Bild – 27/07/22 via Sport Witness).

Christian Falk was the latest journalist to report on the Bundesliga giants’ interest in the Tottenham man, claiming earlier this week that Julian Nagelsmann’s side are hopeful Kane will not sign a new contract with Spurs so they can make a move for him next summer.

Meanwhile, reports in England over recent months have suggested that Tottenham are now more optimistic that Kane could put pen to paper on a new deal (The Athletic).

Fabrizio Romano told CaughtOffside this week that despite Bayern’s interest in the England captain, Spurs are ‘relaxed’ about the player’s future.

Salihamidzic has now told the German media that “there is nothing” to the speculation linking Kane with a move to Bavaria.

The Bayern director said (via Philipp Kessler): “I don’t think Oliver (Bayern CEO Oliver Kahn) is forcing a commitment from him (Kane). You can all take a step back there. There’s nothing to it.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Bayern Munich are not the only club who will be in for Kane if the striker does not sign a new contract with Tottenham by next summer.

However, I cannot see the 29-year-old leaving the Premier League, and given that City and Liverpool have spent big on Haaland and Nunez respectively, I think the England captain will sign a new deal at Spurs.
