Nottingham Forest are now eyeing a summer move for a midfielder, who Tottenham were unable to push through a deal for during the January transfer window.
Davide Frattesi was heavily linked with a move to Tottenham during the January window, but a deal never materialised or appeared to come particularly close.
It has been suggested by a few outlets over recent weeks that Spurs club could go back in for Frattesi in the summer.
A fresh report has now shed light on Spurs’ attempts to land the 25-year-old in January and explain why they might face competition for his services this summer.

Nottingham Forest enter Davide Frattesi race with Tottenham
The print edition of TuttoSport (as relayed by Sport Witness) have now claimed that Nottingham Forest are now planning a summer move for the Inter man.
The outlet does not reveal if Tottenham will go back in for Fratessi in the summer, but they confirm that Ange Postecoglou’s men did make an attempt to sign the player during the January window.
They say that Spurs ‘tested the waters’ for the midfielder, but the deal could never take off as Inter’s high demands put a ‘wall’ and ensured that the player ended up remaining at the San Siro.
Will Inter allow Fratessi to leave this summer?
Interestingly, it is pointed out that while Fratessi did force himself back into the team for a brief period, he has found himself falling out of favour again over the last month.
The publication says that the former Sassuolo man, who has only seen 10 minutes of action in his last three league games, is thus likely to attract further attention in the summer.
