Nottingham Forest may have just damaged Tottenham’s chances of a late transfer

Tottenham Hotspur’s chances of landing Sam Johnstone may actually depend on the fate of the goalkeeper’s Wolves teammate.

Antonin Kinsky is being linked with a shock loan move to West Ham United in the final days of the transfer window.

It has been suggested that, as Kinsky edges close to a move to the Hammers, Spurs have turned to Wolves’ Sam Johnstone as a replacement.

The English goalkeeper would allegedly ‘jump at the chance’ to join Spurs after losing his number one spot to Jose Sa.

Jose Sa development puts Tottenham’s Sam Johnstone move in doubt

BBC Sport have now confirmed that Spurs are indeed keen on landing Johnstone on loan, but they explain that the move may be impacted by the latest developments on Sa’s future.

The Portuguese goalkeeper is now the subject of interest from Nottingham Forest, who are keen to secure his services before Monday’s transfer deadline.

It is explained that whether Forest can successfully strike a deal for Sa will impact whether Johnstone completes a temporary move to N17.

Antonin Kinsky’s departure is likely to be contingent on a goalkeeper signing

Tottenham may not want to let Kinsky go to West Ham unless they can bring another goalkeeper through the door.

It is unlikely that Thomas Frank and his staff would be willing to make do with Brandon Austin as Guglielmo Vicario’s understudy for the next few months.

Meanwhile, there have also been some suggestions that Tottenham have held talks over signing West Ham number two Mads Hermansen on loan.
