Nuno admits he is delighted with the progress of two Tottenham stars

Nuno Espirito Santo has admitted that he is delighted with the way Cristian Romero and Emerson Royal are adapting after their tricky starts to life at Tottenham.

Romero and Emerson have both established themselves as regulars in Tottenham’s back four over the last few weeks.

While the Argentine and the Brazilian did not have the best of outings in their first couple of games in a Spurs shirt, they are now showing signs of getting adjusted to English football.

Romero’s partnership with Eric Dier at centre-back seems to have the makings of being a solid pairing while Emerson has been reliable in his defensive work while also displaying his engine in getting up the pitch.

The Brazilian picked up his first assist for Spurs against Burnley on Wednesday after his pin-point cross was headed home by Lucas Moura.

Romero meanwhile has admitted that he is now starting to feel at home in North London.

When asked about the centre-back’s time at Tottenham so far, Nuno said (via Football.London): “I think he’s improving. Two cases, clearly of players, who are stepping up with games and improving in a very good way are Emerson and Cuti Romero.

“Premier League is very demanding. They felt the impact of the competition at the beginning, now they’re settling down.

“That’s what we need: players who arrive and as soon as they get the right adaptation, the talent is there. It will be good for us.”

A lot of fans were quick to write of Emerson after his first couple of performances but the Brazilian has since shown why Paratici was keen on snapping him up from Barcelona. Hopefully, both he and Romero can continue their current vein of form.
