Nuno answers question on whether Kane will be available for Man City clash

Nuno Espirito Santo has hinted that Harry Kane will be available for selection for Tottenham’s season opener against Manchester City next Sunday.

There has been plenty of drama surrounding Kane of late, with the striker reportedly going on strike last week in an effort to engineer a move to City.

However, Kane has denied that he ever refused to train, insisting the plan was always for him to return when he did on Saturday.

Reports indicate Pep Guardiola’s men are confident of getting a deal for the 28-year-old over the line before the transfer window shuts.

The striker is currently self-isolating in The Lodge at Hotspur Way and Nuno Espirito Santo is expected to speak with him for the first time today.

The Athletic’s Charlie Eccleshare revealed earlier today that Spurs plan on reintegrating the England captian into group training on Thursday.

Nuno may have provided an even bigger boost by now hinting that Kane could feature against City.

When asked whether the striker would be available for the season opener, the Spurs boss told Sky Sports: “All the players in the squad that work on a daily basis will be options for us.”

Nuno is obviously trying to say the right things in order to avoid controversy but I would be extremely surprised if Kane starts against City. I expect the Spurs boss to stick with the same front six that started against Arsenal on Sunday.
