Nuno asked whether Bryan Gil is in contention to start against Arsenal

Nuno Espirito Santo was asked whether Bryan Gil was in contention to start against Arsenal this weekend in his press conference today, but the Tottenham head coach gave little away.

Gil started the game against Wolves in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night and impressed both in the 90 minutes and the penalty shootout.

The former Sevilla man showed no fear in demanding the ball from his teammates and driving directly at his opponents. He then stepped up and stroked the all-important third penalty into the top corner.

Tottenham come up against Arsenal in the North London Derby this weekend, with Gil still looking for his chance to impress in the Premier League.

However, Nuno remained adamant that all his players were in contention to start the game and a decision would only be made after training tomorrow. He even name-dropped Lucas Moura into the equation, with the winger returning from injury.

When asked if Gil was in contention to start, Nuno said (Football London): “All the players, all the players. We have a session tomorrow to prepare and then we make the decisions.

“We have Lucas back also which is good news so let’s try to make and prepare the game. Like I said to you, it’s a different game, it’s a different game. We must feel it.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

If Lucas is fit enough to start, I think he will be given the nod in such an important fixture. However, if he is anything short of that, Gil should make the XI. He deserves the chance to show what he can do in a big game.
