Nuno opens up on current Spurs form and what he is learning from it

Nuno Espirito Santo opened up on Tottenham’s current form and what he is learning from it in his pre-match press conference ahead of the club’s Europa Conference League tie against Mura on Thursday.

Tottenham started the Premier League season in dreamland with three back-to-back wins, all of which came alongside a clean sheet.

In fact, heading into the first international break of the season, Spurs were top of the league and Nuno was handed the first Manager of the Month award.

Fast forward another three games and Tottenham have dropped nine points, conceded nine goals, lost three London derbies and only scored one in the process.

However, Nuno claimed that it is not a time for Tottenham to panic and the only way to reach the other side is to stick together.

He also spoke about what he has learned from his role at Spurs since joining in the summer, including what some players are ‘unable’ to do.

Nuno said (Football London): “We don’t panic because we know that this is football.

“This is football. It’s how you react to the bad moments. It’s something that you cannot avoid. Every team goes for a moment like this. History shows that. Sticking together is the only way to do it.”

He added: “A lot of things. It tells me a lot. Since day one, we are knowing each other better, knowing our strengths and weaknesses so we can improve.

“Now it’s obvious that we have things to improve. I’m seeing players that want to achieve and are working hard to do it, but they are unable.

“We are still having problems when we concede goals. A lot of analysis is going on. We have a talented team with players to get out of this situation and play better football.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

Nuno does speak a lot of sense here. He is still learning about the squad and the players. However, in order for Spurs to find the light at the end of the tunnel, I think Nuno also needs to take a look at his own tactics.
