Nuno responds to claim Harry Winks would fit well into old Wolves tactics

Nuno Espirito Santo declined that chance to directly confirm or deny a journalist’s claim about Harry Winks playing under the coach’s old Wolves tactics.

One reporter put it to Nuno that the Spurs midfielder’s style would have worked well under the head coach’s previous tactics at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Instead, the new Spurs man claimed that every current player would be given a fresh start during pre-season and a chance to work hard.

Eurosport also reported this week that Harry Winks would be given a chance by Nuno this season after struggling under Jose Mourinho last time out.

Football London also said that Winks is happy to remain at Tottenham this season and fight for his place in the first team.

This came after Football Insider claimed that Fabio Paratici was set to inform Winks that the club would listen to offers for him this summer.

When one reported commented about Winks suiting his old Wolves tactics, Nuno said (Football London): “All the players that are working here have their own characteristics.

“What happened before is not really important for me, what I am seeing and judging, all the players have been great and working hard.

“I am going to repeat myself, every player is going to be needed because it going to be a long and hard season for us. It is a new start for every player and this is what they should put in their minds.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

It appears that Winks will be given one more season to prove his worth. I imagine that unless Spurs plan on bringing in a few new locally trained players, then the current ones will remain this summer, including Winks.
