Nuno reveals Spurs player is out with painful ‘inflammation on his appendix’

Tottenham Hotspur head coach, Nuno Espirito Santo has revealed that Ben Davies is out with a painful inflammation on his appendix.

Spurs fans saw a much-changed XI start against Mura in the Europa Conference League last night with the likes of Dane Scarlett up front, Matt Doherty at right-back, and Joe Rodon in the centre of defence.

However, one man who is often on the receiving end of a call-up when the side is rotated, Ben Davies, was absent, with first-team star Sergio Reguilon retaining his spot.

Nuno has now reported that the Welshman had some scans this week and has not been able to play due to the pain, but he hopes he can recover soon and rejoin the squad.

Tottenham face Aston Villa this weekend in the Premier League and are in desperate need of a bounce-back result after three straight losses to Crystal Palace, Chelsea and Arsenal.

On Davies, Nuno said (Football London): “He has a problem on an inflammation on his appendix. He has been taken care of, he has had some scans, but he was not able to play, he was in pain. We wish that he recovers soon and he can join us.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

We are sorry to hear that Ben is struggling at the moment and wish him all the best in his recovery. He has been a loyal servant to the club and often doesn’t get the credit he deserves. Hopefully, he will be back deputising for Reguilon again soon.
