Nuno speaks on injuries to Tottenham’s Steven Bergwijn and Lucas Moura

Nuno Espirito Santo has opened up on the injuries suffered by Lucas Moura and Steven Bergwijn in this evening’s 2-2 draw against Rennes.

Bergwijn and Lucas were both named in the starting XI for Tottenham, alongside Bryan Gil and Harry Kane in attack. However, neither one finished the game.

The Dutch winger was forced off not long into the Europa Conference League match, replaced by Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, while Moura hobbled off in the second 45. Both injuries were sustained after challenges from Rennes players.

Tottenham face Chelsea at the weekend in the Premier League and may now be running thin on the ground on the wing, with Heung-min Son also missing the Rennes game through injury.

When asked about the injuries, Nuno claimed it has been ‘terrible’ and he did not know whether the duo would be fit enough to face the Blues on Sunday.

He said: “It’s been terrible. We don’t know if they will be fit. It’s tough”

Nuno added: “Really painful. Too early to say [for Sunday]. The physios are working with them.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

Tottenham were struggling to create chances with all their attacking talent on the pitch, now we could be without Bergwijn, Moura and Son for the Chelsea game. Things are not looking good for Spurs and Nuno at the moment.
