‘Of course we are there’ – Pochettino on whether Spurs can win the League

One week Tottenham are well in the title race, the next they are out of it, now they appear as if they might be outsiders again.

Spurs clinched back-to-back late victories in the last two Premier League matches, beating both Fulham and Watford 2-1.

With Man City losing to Newcastle, and Liverpool dropping points to Leicester this week, Spurs have made up crucial ground in the title race.

They now sit seven points ahead of Arsenal in fourth, and just seven points below Liverpool, the League leaders.

Spurs also have no domestic cups to worry about anymore, and Harry Kane and Dele Alli are both on the way back to first team action.

Pochettino was asked in his press conference today whether Tottenham were still in the title race, and he found it difficult to disagree.

With 14 games remaining, anything could happen if Spurs string together a few wins on the bounce now.

Poch said (Football London): “In reality? If you see the table, of course we are there, there’s a lot of games to play and then it’s about if we are going to achieve that or if we work for that. Tomorrow we will try to win the three points and the next the same and then we will see if we can win the Premier League.

“In case we win the league it’s not because we were prepared, its because sometimes things happens.

“All that is happening today is fantastic, we are breaking records away from home that is in our best record in Premier League and I think we are doing well but of course the dream is a dream and my dream is to win the PL or CL, or the cups, with no doubt.”
