O’Hara to West Ham, Parker to Spurs?

Spurs are considering making a bid for West Ham midfielder Scott Parker, with Jamie O’Hara moving the other way to be re-united with Avram Grant.

O’Hara impressed during his loan spell at Portsmouth last season under Grant and the player has expressed his desire to play regular first-team football and is valued at £5million.

Redknapp recently backed Parker after he was cut from the England squad for the World Cup.

Redknapp said recently: “People on the inside who I know tell me Scott was fantastic in training every day. He worked his socks off and could not have done any more, but whatever he did he wasn’t going to go.

“Someone said to me he felt like a ghost on the trip, like Dawson – they were there but not there, and they could sense that.

“They never kicked a ball and the manager didn’t really speak to them or give them much feedback.

  1. Capello sounds like my boss :-) Parker is an old school type of player. Loyal, workhorse mentality, strong, and dependable. This would be a great coup should it happen. Levy will you get your finger out and sign up Redknapp long term for God's sake.

  2. Thing i dont like with Parker is he has always chased the money.
Charlton to Chelsea (couldnt get in team and leaves)
Chelsea to Newcastle (cause Geordies only ones who would pay him the same money he was on at Chelsea)
Newcastle to West Ham (crazy Icelandics offer the same money as the Geordies)

He is also very injury prone. He flies in with mad tackles = lots of free kicks and cards = suspensions. Decent enough player but too much baggage for us.

  3. Fair play Cathcher, excellent pointers. I do nonetheless think that he has matured as a person since, although he can be injury prone. I suppose the underlined question would be, who would you rather have?, O'Hara or Parker? Is this a move forward ?

  4. O'Hara wants a move (supposedly) because he doesn't want to sit on the bench. Can't see Parker wanting to sit there either and who would you drop to get him on the pitch? Palacios didn't have such a good year but I'd have him in front of Parker all day long.

  5. wasnt this the same parker who didnt want to go to spurs when he left chelsea.Ohara said he hoped portsmouth would beat spurs.heads we lose, tails we dont win.

  6. PARKER IS NO DOUBT INJURY PRONE THAT`S FOR SURE HARRY BUT THERE IS A VAST DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HIM AND O`HARA , PARKER HAS A BRAIN O`HARA HAS NONE AND YES HE HAS TURNED DOWN SPURS BEFORE AND FOR A SO CALLED SPURS FANATIC THIS MUST BE DOWN TO HIM GETTING THE MONEY HE WANT`S FROM CHELSEA AND NEWCASTLE , CAN`T SEE HIM CUTTING A DEAL WITH HARRY IN RESPECT OF A LARGE PAY PACKET EACH WEEK AND A MASSIVE SIGNING ON FEE THAT WOULD SWELL HIS BANK ACCOUNT TO NO END`S , STILL IN ALL I WOULD LOVE HIM AT WHL AND TO MAKE ROOM FOR HIM I WOULD FLOGG PALACOIS THE GUY IS BLOOD AND THUNDER NO QUESTION BUT SO WAS DAVE MCKAY ONLY DIFFERENCE IS MCKAY COULD PASS AND SCORE GOAL`S , A VERY GOOD ADDITION IF A DEAL CAN BE DONE HE WOULD BE MY ALAN MULLERY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • The only holding midfielder better than Palacois premiership is Javier Mascherano flogg Palacois to get a 30year old injury prone player, who failed at chelsea got booed at Newcastle and only looked good at Charlton and West Ham and only has 3 caps for England. Palacois improved spurs midfield greatly and a player that we needed badly of the years to get rid of southern softies tag and will be a star at this WC unlike Parker .

  7. Well apart from an Engine, and a great passer of the ball, ferocious tackler, good organizer, fantastic drive and a Spurs supporter, what else has he got?. Some of you are pleased, rightly so to see the back of Jenas, well this guy is everything Jenas definitely should have been, but for some reason isn't!. Parker for O'Hara/Jenas, it shouldn't take a second to bite the West Ham hand clean off their arm
