O’Hara’s pain at leaving Spurs

Jamie O’Hara has admitted that it was ‘painful’ to leave Tottenham Hotspur for Wolves.

The boyhood Spurs fan made 56 appearances for the club before completing a £5million move to Molineux.

“It’s painful to leave because I always wanted to play for Tottenham,” said O’Hara.

“I played over 50 games for them and I was part of the club for a long period of time.

“I joined them when I was 17 and I was a Spurs fan so I always wanted to play for the club, but I never really felt like I had the opportunity.

“Juande Ramos played me in a lot of games but then I kind of fell out of favour when Harry Redknapp came in.

“I had a really good pre-season when Redknapp took over but I still got left out and I think from that point on, I realised it was time to move on.

“It just wasn’t happening for me. Sometimes your face fits and I just need to play regular football.

“It’s hard to leave them because I’ve always supported them and I still love the club. It’s a fantastic club. But now I’m a Wolves fan and a Wolves player.”

  1. well said jamie, unfair stick re the pompey comments when they played us in the semi, who out there wouldnt want to play in a wembley cup final, even against spurs when we didnt want him, i,ll always applaud you and good l uck next season, apart from the two aginst us

  2. Another player thats left without a proper opportunity. If we getting in a 30 year old Scott Parker I really don't see the point. I think that Jamie could've develop into a player of the same ilk as someone like a Parker but with years of his best football ahead of him still. And he's able to play in a number of positions, knowing that he'd give his all in each one. Even if it was in goal!! Harry's said we need characters with a bit of passion and Jaime certainly has this and the personality of not being afraid to speak his mind. Like he said, his face didn't fit. Good luck to him.

  3. Jamie could fit VDV's role. But with Redknapp, if he doesn't like u, there is nothing u can do about it unfortunately, no matter how well u perform.

  4. arry fucked up big time, i’d rather have a true spurs fan loving the shirt than some fuck we found in outer bosmongolicroazia who dont even speak the lingo(like a lot of the tits here). Would be great to have a team of the Jamie mentality again as the Spurs was under Glen n Hoddle when he was playing. What about it Arry, you let Jamie go for five muillion and you keep cunts like Huddlestone who has given up running, and if you can’t run then you’re useless in the premier.
