On loan Spurs starlet Anthony Georgiou comments on his future

Tottenham Hotspur’s Anthony Georgiou is coming to a point in his career that could be classed as make or break at the North London club.

An academy graduate, Georgiou is now 22-years-old and is still not a regular in the Tottenham squad, let alone the first team.

In fact, the winger is currently out on loan until January at Ipswich Town, where he has been used as a regular substitute at Portman Road.

It seemed to be a positive start to the season for Georgiou under Pochettino, with the Cypriot being named in the tour of Asia squad.

He started every match at left-back to cover for the absent Danny Rose and Ben Davies, but failed to earn a spot in Poch’s Premier League plans for the new season.

Commenting on his future beyond January, Georgiou claimed that he would have to just wait and see what happens.

He said (TWTD): “I’m on loan until January and it’s all going well so we’ll see what happens from there.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

A very steady and talented player, but I would have to say that he isn’t up to the standard that Spurs need for their first-team squad. I am sure that Georgiou will do well elsewhere in England, but I can’t see a future for him at Tottenham.
