On-loan Tottenham man picks up another assist as he makes up for lost time

Giovani Lo Celso might have spent a significant amount of time on the treatment table this season but the midfielder is making up for lost time since his return to full fitness.

Lo Celso picked up yet another assist for Villarreal over the weekend, setting up Nicolas Jackson’s goal with a precise through ball as the Yellow Submarine emerged 3-1 winners over Celta Vigo.

However, Football.London reveal in their weekly loan update that Destiny Udogie had a game to forget over the weekend as he gave away the penalty which proved the difference between Lecce and Udinese on Friday.

Meanwhile, Harry Winks completed another 90 minutes for Sampdoria, who were thrashed 5-0 at Fiorentina, with the club now on the verge of relegation.

Bryan Gil made two appearances for Sevilla over the past few days, playing 45 minutes in their 1-0 win over Athletic Bilbao last Thursday before completing 82 minutes in their 2-0 loss to Girona.

Football.London reveal that Tanguy Ndombele came on for the final minute in Napoili’s 1-1 draw at home with Salernitana while neither Joe Rodon nor Djed Spence featured in Rennes’ 4-2 win over Angers.

Meanwhile, Troy Parrott played 88 minutes as Preston fell to a 4-1 defeat at Bramall Lane on Saturday, with the striker being handed a rating of 5/10 by Lancashire Live, who wrote about the Tottenham man’s display:

“Looked annoyed with the decision-making from teammates in the first half, with him making runs but not receiving the ball. Had a couple of openings over the game, but couldn’t find the finish.”

Lo Celso has been in excellent form since returning from his hamstring injury and is showing just why he is rated so highly by the Argentina set-up.

Out of all the players out on loan, perhaps he (along with Djed Spence) has the best chance of impressing the new Spurs head coach in pre-season and rescuing his Tottenham career.
