‘On their holidays’ – Mark Lawrenson makes score prediction for Leeds vs Spurs

Mark Lawrenson has shared his prediction for the final game of the season, and thinks Tottenham Hotspur might just grab a win at Leeds United on Sunday.

Tottenham go into the game at Elland Road needing a win to have a chance of securing Europa Conference League football next season.

Results will have to go their way, too, with Aston Villa‘s result against Bournemouth being key to Spurs’ fate.

The game will bring to a conclusion a miserable season for Spurs, with poor results and performances on the pitch being matched by chaos behind the scenes.

Meanwhile, Leeds United have to win on Sunday to have any hope of remaining in the Premier League. Sam Allardyce’s men are currently 19th in the league table with 31 points from 37 games.

Leicester City are above them in 18th on goal difference, while Everton have 33 points and sit just outside the drop zone.

Speaking to Paddy Power about his predictions for the final matchday of the 2022/23 campaign, Lawrenson fancies Tottenham for a late win away from home.

He said: “Tottenham are already on their holidays and their away form has been awful but Harry Kane will want to score and he’ll get opportunities against Leeds.

“I was going to go for a draw but Leeds have to win so they’ll go all out in the final 10 minutes and I think Spurs might do them.”

Spurs Web Opinion

It’s going to be a really tricky game for Spurs at the weekend and I don’t really fancy our chances.

The Leeds players should be well up for it in front of their own fans, and they arguably need the three points more than we do.

If we can get an early goal, hopefully the crowd will turn against the Leeds players and then we can put the pressure on.
