‘One of the best’ – Ledley King lavishes praise on Spurs star’s underrated attribute

Ledley King has claimed that Lucas Moura is one of the best in the air he has seen for a player who is lacking in height.

Spurs fans know only too well of the impressive leap that Moura possesses, with the Brazilian having scored his fair share of headed goals during his time in North London.

The 29-year-old once again showed his aerial prowess on Sunday against Crystal Palace, leaping over Joachim Anderson to head in Emerson Royal’s cross from close range to help the home side double their lead.

Apart from finding the back of the net, Moura also set up Harry Kane’s and Son Heung-min’s goals in Tottenham’s 3-0 win.

The former Paris Saint-Germain winger earned special praise from Antonio Conte after Spurs’ win over the Eagles.

King has now taken to social media to praise Moura’s ability in the air, not just in front of goal but also in helping Tottenham defend set-pieces.

Moura’s spring is certainly extraordinary and while a running jump always has an advantage over a defender’s standing jump, the way he towered above Andersen was impressive.

The 29-year-old has been in exceptional form this season and he has certainly proved many of his critics wrong. I am happy to see that the Brazilian is now started to get the plaudits he deserves.
