Some Southampton fans on social media are seemingly in love with Kyle Walker-Peters after the Spurs loanee’s impressive recent displays.
Walker-Peter’s loan spell on the South Coast did not get off to the start that the defender would have hoped for but the 23-year-old has been in fantastic form since the restart.
He has seen off competition from Yan Valery and made the right-back spot his own, as he continues to impress both defensively as well as going forward.
The defender has earned the praise of Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl (Football.London), with reports indicating that the Austrian is keen to sign the Spurs academy graduate on a permanent basis when the transfer window opens (The Sun).
With Tottenham reported to be interested in signing Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, reports have suggested that the Lilywhites could use Walker-Peters to bring down the Saints’ asking price for the midfielder (Sky Sports).
After Walker-Peters produced a Man of the Match display in Southampton’s 2-0 win over Bournemouth on Sunday, some Saints fans insisted that they would swap Hojbjerg for the Spurs loanee in a heartbeat.
He’s gonna get very expensive if these performances continue

KWP is an absolute game changer. Never seen a RB who’s such a playmaker in the attack and still solid defensively. If Ralph signs him, he has the potential to be one of the best RBs in the league imo👀 #saintsfc pic.twitter.com/XT4OF1809G

I’d take a straight swap. Cash plus KWP great deal.

Spurs Web Opinion
I have been impressed with Walker-Peters’ displays since his move to St Mary’s but I certainly have not been surprised as the young defender has shown over the years that he has plenty of talent. However, I do not believe the 23-year-old fits the profile of defenders that Jose likes. While Aurier certainly has lapses in concentration, he does not get bullied the same way that Walker-Peters has on a few occasions.
