One Tottenham player has not made a good first impression on Thomas Frank

Journalist Pete O’Rourke says one Tottenham midfielder has not impressed Thomas Frank in the opening weeks of the season.

Since the start of the summer, Spurs have been trying to find a buyer for Yves Bissouma, but they have been unsuccessful in doing so.

Bissouma already saw a move to Galatasaray collapse two weeks ago, with the Turkish club deciding against doing a deal due to concerns over the midfielder’s fitness.

Unsurprisingly, Bissouma is one of six players left out of Tottenham’s Champions League squad for the League Phase, which is perhaps clear evidence that he is not in Thomas Frank’s plans.

Yves Bissouma is expected to push for a late Tottenham exit

Over recent days, it has emerged that Bissouma could complete a move to Turkey and Saudi Arabia, with the transfer window in those countries remaining open for the moment.

Pete O’Rourke has now claimed that the former Brighton man has not managed to convince Thomas Frank and predicted that he will push for a move if there is late interest in his services.

O’Rourke told Football Insider about Bissouma: “He hasn’t made the best of an impression on Thomas Frank. He’ll probably find it hard to get into that Tottenham midfield now, following the signing of [Joao] Palhinha.

“If a suitable offer were to come in for Bissouma, Tottenham would be willing to listen to that, and the player himself might be keen on a move away in search of regular first-team football.”

Yves Bissouma has a clear decision to make

Over recent days, it has emerged that Fenerbahce’s interest in Bissouma has also cooled, with a move to Istanbul not looking likely for the midfielder before the February 12 Turkish transfer deadline.

It remains to be seen if a move to the Saudi Pro League will appeal to the former Brighton man, who is still in his prime years as a footballer.

Bissouma may thus face a difficult decision on whether to move to the Middle East or to warm the bench at Tottenham until January.
