One Tottenham Hotspur player still earned a place in the WhoScored team of the week despite Spurs’ Premier League defeat to West Ham United last weekend.
Tottenham Hotspur’s 2-1 defeat to 18th-placed West Ham United left a sour taste in the mouths of supporters, who were quick to voice their discontent with Thomas Frank following the loss.
Chants of ‘you’re getting sacked in the morning’ were sung at full-time as disgruntled Spurs fans made their frustrations clear after a disappointing London derby defeat.
However, Frank’s side did make some much-needed amends in midweek as they secured a 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League, leaving the Dane close to securing a top-eight finish in his debut campaign in the competition, although fans still voted with their feet as disapproval lingered.

Tottenham star earns WhoScored recognition despite West Ham defeat
Cristian Romero was on the scoresheet against West Ham United as Tottenham attempted to spark a comeback after the Lilywhites went down early in the matchup.
But that proved in vain because of a Calum Wilson last-minute winner, which compounded Spurs’ misery and made it three domestic defeats in a row.
Regardless, Romero has still earned a place in the WhoScored Team of the Week, receiving a 7.90 match rating for his performance.
The Spurs centre-back was part of a backline that also included James Tarkowski, Milos Kerkez and Nordi Mukiele, with Martin Dubravka in goal.
Romero response offers encouragement for Spurs
While Romero did put in a solid display against the Hammers, the Tottenham captain was quick to label the defeat a disaster in his post-match comments.
It was not merely words from a frustrated Romero, who went on to inspire Tottenham’s Champions League win three days later.
The Argentine opened the scoring in front of the Tottenham faithful and also played a key role in securing a clean sheet.
