Only Barcelona and PSG are earning more money than Spurs right now in one key area

Football Finance expert Kieran Maguire has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur generate the third highest matchday revenue in all of Europe when calculated on a per-match basis.

Tottenham decided to demolish the old White Hart Lane to build a brand new 62,850-capacity stadium in an effort to close the financial gap with Europe’s biggest clubs.

Nearly five years on from the move, it is fair to say that the club have achieved that goal, with the Lilywhites regularly generating high profits.

Tottenham are raking in the money on matchdays

The extra revenue from the stadium has now put Spurs in a position where they have some leeway to spend money just as other sides in the Premier League are struggling to comply with the Profit and Sustainability Rules.

The advantage that Spurs have over others has now been borne out by the following report, according to which the Lilywhites make €5.6m (£4.8m) per match, which is more than any other English side and the third most in Europe behind Barcelona and PSG,

Not only is the stadium a revenue-generating machine on each matchday, mainly due to the number of fans that can be served by the foot and drink stalls, but it also has another unique advantage.

The retractable pitch means that the venue can host NFL, and other sporting events, concerns etc, thus increasing the number of total matchdays in a season.
