‘Only danger’ – Report says there is one concern about Spurs player in his native country

Pro Sport have said there are concerns in the Romanian set-up that Radu Dragusin might not be at his best for the Euros next summer if he continues warming the bench for Tottenham Hotspur.

Dragusin is widely seen as one of the best young prospects to come out of Romanian football over recent years, with the centre-back expected to play a key role in the nation’s quest to deliver a decent showing in the European championship in Germany.

With Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven now fit, the 22-year-old has had to bide his time since his switch to Tottenham last month, having played just eight minutes across three Premier League games for Spurs so far (Transfermarkt).

Concerns in Romania about Radu Dragusin’s game time

Pro Sport have now said that irrespective of what happens from now until the end of the season, Dragusin will partner Andrei Burca, who plays for Saudi Arabian side Al-Okhdood, in the heart of the Romanian defence in the Euros.

However, there are thought to be concerns that the Spurs star might be short of match sharpness for the big tournament if he continues warming the bench at the North London side.

The publication also raises fears that Dragusin’s development could ‘stagnate’ if he continues being a reserve at Tottenham on the back of an impressive 18-month spell at Genoa.

The fact that Tottenham are out of the FA Cup and only have one game a week for the rest of the campaign does not do Dragusin’s prospect of game time any favours.

However, the Romanian will get his chance before the end of the season and he will certainly benefit from training regularly with the calibre of players at Spurs.
