‘Only problem’ – Pundit suggests one Spurs star lacks the right temperament

Former Millwall midfielder Eamon Dunphy believes that Richarlison’s form is Tottenham’s ‘only problem’ at the moment, stating that the Brazilian does not have the right temperament to turn things around.

Ange Postecoglou’s decision to move Richarlison to the left and play Son Heung-min through the middle has worked perfectly, with the South Korean having scored eight times since being shifted to the number nine role.

Even though Richarlison continues to get some flak for failing to find the back of the net, the Brazilian has at least delivered a few decent performances out wide.

However, with Brennan Johnson now fit and with the Welshman making an excellent impact off the bench against Crystal Palace last week, Postecoglou will perhaps be tempted to start the summer signing.

Is Richarlison going to turn things around at Spurs?

Dunphy has not been impressed with the work Richarlison has done on the left, with the pundit insisting that the former Everton man does not have the attributes to play on the flank.

He said on The Stand with Eamon Dunphy podcast: “Son up front is doing really well, he scored on Friday night, that turned out to be the decisive goal.

“The only problem they have is Richarlison on the outside left. We know his temperament is wrong and he’s not really a winger anyway.”

Spurs Web Opinion

It feels like Richarlison is going to continue receiving criticism whenever he fails to score. I actually think the 26-year-old has been quite good over recent weeks and was one of our best players in the first half against Fulham.

I expect Ange to start with the Brazilian against Chelsea on Monday and use Brennan Johnson as an impact substitute once again.
