‘Open talks with us’ – Fiorentina owner sends message to club’s interested in Vlahovic

Fiorentina owner Rocco Commisso has warned clubs interested in Dusan Vlahovic not to speak with the striker’s agent.

Vlahvoic is having another exceptional season for Fiorentina, having scored 14 goals in 16 appearances across all competitions so far.

Over the past few weeks, there has been plenty of speculation linking Tottenham with a move for the centre-forward.

However, Spurs are not the only club interested in the 21-year-old, with their North London rivals Arsenal and Juventus also said to be eyeing a January deal.

Gianluca Di Marzio revealed earlier this week that the Serbian international is unlikely to leave in January, insisting that a transfer next summer is the more likely outcome.

However, reports indicate that both Spurs and Arsenal are prepared to pay €70m (£59.6M) for the striker’s services in January.

While Commisso did not rule out the possibility of Vlahovic departing the Artemio Franchi Stadium next month, he warned clubs that Fiorentina still own the player.

The Viola owner said (via Fabrizio Romano): “I don’t know if Juventus are able to sign Vlahovic in January.

“But I wanna say to Juventus or Arsenal that we [Fiorentina] are the owners of Vlahovic. They should open talks with us – not with his agents.”

Fiorentina will likely be keen to cash in on Vlahovic in January as they know his value will drop next summer due to his contract situation. However, it remains unclear what the 21-year-old’s plans are regarding his future, particularly with all the contrasting reports we have had over the last few weeks.
