Opinion: Five Spurs players who should take a bow after their Burnley performances

Tottenham Hotspur enjoyed their game of the season so far today as they battered Burnley 5-0 in North London, the perfect response to the Lilywhite’s loss at Old Trafford.

Let’s take a look at the five players who performed admirably today:

Heung Min Son –

For that goal alone, Son was always going to be worth a mention. Running the ball from his own defensive third, past half the Burnley team and into the opposition net was surely a contender for goal of the season. However, Sonny also grabbed an assist and was outstanding for the full 90 minutes.

Harry Kane –

Given freedom by the new roles himself and Dele have been allocated, Harry Kane was absolutely everywhere today. He came deep to collect the ball, ran in behind, peeled off his markers, and was a pain in the side of Burnley all day. He grabbed two superb goals and even added another assist to his tally for the season.

Dele Alli –

What more can we say about this guy under Mourinho? Another game, another two assists for the England man. Finally, we are starting to see peak Dele again!

Moussa Sissoko –

Such a well-rounded performance today. He knew when to defend and when to attack. Kickstarted counters by winning the ball, carried it through the lines, created chances for the front four, and even grabbed himself another goal!

Davinson Sanchez –

This man was an animal today! what should have been a tough battle with the Burnley strikers turned into a walkover, as Sanchez got tight to them and didn’t give them a moment’s rest all day. Superb challenges done with such speed that Spurs often ended up countering. Quickly becoming the club’s best defender.
