Opinion: Five things I want to see Jose Mourinho do in the month of December

Tottenham Hotspur are now under new management in North London, which will bring with it vast changes both on and off the pitch.

Jose Mourinho already had three wins under his belt as Spurs boss, changing the formation, players’ positions, and the defence.

Here are five things I want to see Mourinho do in the next month:

Hand game time to Parrott and Tanganga:

These two are the jewels in the Spurs academy. They have been training with the first-team for a good while now and are ready to get minutes under their belt. The nothing game away to Bayern Munich seems like the perfect time to kickstart their Spurs careers.

New contract for Tanganga:

Mourinho should make it clear to Levy and the board that Tanganga is a player that simply must remain at the club, with his contract set to expire in the summer. Spurs should offer him a wage rise and assurances of first-team chances.

Filter Ndombele, Lo Celso, and Sessegnon into the team:

The squad needs a refresh and the new manager is the perfect person to do that. Tottenham have only made three first-team signings in the past two years, it’s about time the club started using them.

Sort out the defence:

The back four needs to be solidified. Conceding two goals in each of the past four games is not good enough. No clean sheets in the Premier League since September is not good enough. Mourinho is known for his defensive capabilities, so it’s about time things changed in North London. The Special One should also be lining up defensive signings for January.

Celebrate against Chelsea:

This goes without saying…
