Opinion: Five things we learned from Tottenham’s 2-1 win against Norwich City

Tottenham Hotspur finally got back to winning ways last night in the Premier League as they recorded their very first 2020 win in the competition.

With Dele Alli and Heung Min Son back on the scoresheet in a 2-1 win over Norwich City, let’s take a look at the five things we learned from the match.

Hugo is back!

Lloris was back in the starting XI last night, perhaps a week or two sooner than some may have expected. It seems harsh on Paulo Gazzaniga, but perhaps the Argentine will be given chances under Mourinho.

Winks injury –

The midfield crisis continues as Harry Winks picked up an ankle problem in the second half against Norwich. The England man could be seen rolling around, screaming, and punching the ground in pain. Let’s hope it isn’t as bad as it looked.

Lo Celso masterclass –

Anyone who doubted whether Lo Celso could fill peak Eriksen’s shoes may have been thinking again last night. The Argentine ran the show from midfield, while also being one of the best defensive players on the pitch.

The gap is down to six –

After Chelsea drew to ten-man Arsenal at home this week, Spurs have now closed the gap between them and the Blues down to just six points. However, the Lilywhites now need to kick on and string some results together.

Left-back nightmare –

Ryan Sessegnon had a nightmare showing at left-back last night, making mistake after mistake, including giving away a penalty. With Rose not in the squad again and Davies still out injured, left-back is proving to be an issue.
