Opinion: Four Spurs players who let the side down during FA Cup exit defeat to Norwich

Tottenham Hotspur are out of the FA Cup for yet another season, as their wait for a domestic trophy goes on, stretching back to their last piece of silverware in 2008.

As with many defeats, there were a number of players who we believe let the side down against Norwich:

Michel Vorm –

It seems almost unfair to include him on this list. In truth, asking for a keeper who has barely featured for over a year to come in and play without mistakes is just naive. However, the Dutchman did make the huge error that led to the one Norwich goal, so it has to be highlighted.

Dele Alli –

Dele looked knackered from the very first minute and really struggled to get involved in the game. He played almost exclusively as a striker last night and found himself isolated for large parts of the game. When on the ball, he looked sloppy and fatigued, which eventually led to him being taken off. Looks a shadow of his former self.

Serge Aurier –

Aurier is on this list for a few reasons. The right-back was caught out defensively way too often against Norwich, with the likes of Skipp and Sanchez bailing him out on multiple occasions. However, what was most frustrating was the amount of time and space he was given in advanced areas, only to put in consistently poor crosses all day long.

Lucas Moura –

Moura seemed to carry the ball well last night, but lacked that end product. On a couple of occasions, the Brazilian had the chance to either pull the trigger or slide in a teammate and often picked the wrong one. Also, he didn’t help out enough defensively. Another player who looked fatigued from the get-go.
