Opinion: Four Tottenham players who were awful against Liverpool today

Tottenham Hotspur lost 1-0 to the league leaders Liverpool tonight, a side that has not lost a Premier League game all season, drawing just one.

However, while there is no shame in losing to the Reds, there were some awful performances out there for Tottenham.

Christian Eriksen –

He may as well have not been out there today. He was supposed to be playing central midfield, yet looked scared to put a foot in and left Harry Winks doing the job of two. Unfortunately, it looks as if Eriksen is winding down to his club exit.

Danny Rose –

A harsh inclusion today as Rose has just come back from injury and was up against one of the best forwards in the world in Mo Salah. However, the defender struggled to keep up with the pace of the game, never got forward, and didn’t used the ball well enough in possession.

Dele Alli –

Dele is supposed to be the link between midfield and attack. He is supposed to make himself available, collect the ball, turn, and create. However, Dele was poor in possession today, lacking ideas in terms of creating balls in behind and down the channels for Moura, and didn’t do enough in terms of pressing and defending.

Heung Min Son –

Spurs rely on this man to bring the energy, particularly on the break. While he certainly had that in abundance against Liverpool, his end product was poor. He had two or three good chances and failed to hit the target on all. Needs to be more clinical in the absence of Kane.
